Mercedes builds the long-wheelbase S-Class as a five-seater and we sell it as a three. That is deliberate. The rear compartment is the entire reason to book this car, and a third passenger across the back bench turns the best seat in Saudi private transport into an ordinary one.
The boot depends on the engine
This is the specification worth knowing before you book. Mercedes publishes 515 litres for the long-wheelbase diesel and 535 for the petrol, but the plug-in hybrids carry their battery beneath the boot floor and drop to 350 litres. That is around a case and a half of difference on what looks like the same car, so declare the luggage and we will confirm the variant.
A 5,304 mm car on Saudi roads
The long-wheelbase car measures 5,304 mm overall. On the Riyadh and Jeddah highways that length is precisely the point. In older city quarters and tight hotel forecourts it is a real constraint, so the drop-off point is worth agreeing when the journey is booked rather than on arrival.
